In 2004, I received an invitation for the realization of a sculpture for the City of Cordova (candidate to become "European Capital of Culture").

The idea for my sculpture arose during a visit to the Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos Museum in Cordoba. The Roman mosaic of the 2nd century AD J.-C., found in 1959 in Cordoba which tells the story of Galatea and Polyphemus.

A subject inspired by Greek mythological poetry from the Hellenistic period

The name Galatea means " White as milk" hence the choice of stone.

The name of a small town south of Rennes. They were building their new Cultural Center, like many others did at the time.

The project: "Dress a wall of a steel patio and grow the greenery in the trunks of the trees".

This greenery will give natural color to my steel trees.

When the customer asked me if I could create something unusual than a ceramic pot or spillway.
                 I replied with a big "Yes" and I added "How far can I go?"
          I had the answer that gave me wings.

In a Breton quarry, I found the block that corresponded to me, it weighed 7 tons.

To have the final result of my Cube, I simply removed half.

Between Earth and Water - 1997

“I looked at water flowing down the locks
At the reflections of the sky on the water
At this magnificent blue in time of drought
And at this luxuriant and lush verdure

I immediately imagined a floating sculpture
A first time for me
A know-how that I do not yet possess
An installation on the water

Large squares on a plastic mesh
Undulating with the passing of boats
The sound of water lapping like
The sound of waves tapping on the sculpture

The symmetry is accurate, natural
And all these plants growing around
Symbolize the earth descending into the water
The earth taking a walk”.

The sentences themselves took the form of the waves.
 

The Rising Balls - 1996

After the ball, come the balls. "Vern Volum" organized a meeting between several artists. The day at work, the evening - debates. Between us, with the journalists.

I cut two balls, which goes up from the inside of the stone on the surface of the water, this water that falls without stop from the Brittany sky.
 

TENSION - 1995

Listening to the network of energies that weave space, the artist describes and rewrites the relationships between time and space, things and beings.
Winds, tissues, structures, twist, swell, calm down, listening to nature.
Between opacity and transparency, density and lightness, matter and impalpable, between the top and the bottom, the hollow and the bump, the inside and the outside, between order and disorder, the artist captures moments of space which he translates movement into a state of flux. This movement, an indicator of upheaval, evokes the oppositions and tensions that characterize the work, in the image of the precariousness of the world in all its struggles.
If chance comes in a first step, Jivko SEDLARSKI does not entirely engage in the practice of randomness. He integrates it into his work but counteracts it to a certain extent with the more subjective color that gives all of these forms and combinable lines an original character.
Bas-reliefs or volumes, small pieces or monumental sculptures, the TENSIONS impose by the spectacle of the path of their forces and by their graphic design, sometimes rectilinear and angular, sometimes lyrical, neighbor of the arabesque. The work here is similar to the body of the dancer -or the dancer-thus constituting a veritable ballet "cynegetic."

The Mother - 1990

Bronze, H : 4.40 m. Karlovo / Bulgaria

The work inaugurated on June 6, 2003 by the Bulgarian Prime Minister in person, Mr. Simeon of SAXE COBOURG-GOTHA (aka Simeon II, King of Bulgarians), after 13 years of oblivion.

Originally, the project was intended to adorn the central square of Padarevo in Bulgaria but the statue was chosen to rise at the entrance to the city of Karlovo - the hometown of Vasil Levski.
